Best scooter to rent in Canggu: how to choose
For most visitors the best scooter in Canggu is a Honda Scoopy or Vario 160 for beginners and short trips, a Honda PCX 160 or Yamaha NMAX 155 for comfort and long stays, and a Yamaha XMAX 250 for day trips with a passenger. Choose a manual trail or sport bike only if you already ride manual.

Engine size: 110, 155 or 250 cc?
A 110 to 125 cc scooter (Scoopy, Fazzio) is perfect for Canggu itself: light, cheap and easy. A 155 to 160 cc scooter (Vario, NMAX, PCX, ADV) is the best all-rounder, with enough power for hills, the bypass and two riders. A 250 cc bike matters when you ride long distances at highway speed or want extra comfort. Above 250 cc is for experienced riders only.
Automatic or manual?
If you have any doubt, choose an automatic. All the scooters in our small and big classes are automatic, except the trail bikes and sport bikes. Manual bikes are more fun for riders who know them, but the learning curve is a poor fit for Canggu traffic.
Think about the road, not just the bike
Canggu's main roads are busy from late afternoon, many side lanes are narrow and some are rough. A light scooter is less stressful in traffic. A taller bike like the ADV 160 or the CRF150L is better on poor surfaces. See our tips for riding in Canggu.
